Being the top of my class has always been important to me. Not for the number, not for the grade, but rather, for the opportunities that success brought me. I have a voracious mind; I’m capable of devouring countless facts and swaths of knowledge, but none of that knowledge is for me. I have always been an insatiable learner because I want to be able to pass it all on. I come a divided district where students either soar, or sink like a stone. I, however, am always there to dive down and save those rocks, and I always see them turn into pearls. I learn avidly because I always want to be able to help the people around me learn and achieve more. My future of being the most effective educator possible hangs in the balance. I, as a Middle Childhood Education Major, strive to be a wealth of knowledge for my future students. My goals for the future include preparing my students for the real world. I want to be able to spark inspiration into my learners, and create a burning curiosity for knowledge that sticks with them for a lifetime. I can see how the people who have come before me have influenced and inspired me and I want to be able to pass that down to even more bright young students. To achieve this, I crave a place of concentrated learning that has never really been offered to me before and I am ready to grab the opportunity by the horns. What the Honors College can offer me is unlike anything in my previous years of education. I’m fully prepared for the learning and social opportunities offered to me by the college. I am excited to learn alongside many other incredible peers and begin to make connections that can share a lifetime of successes with me. While my background may be riddled with statistical commonalities, I assure you, my personality is anything but
