How Important is technology with fourth grade students? For starters, it has the ability to build relationships between teachers and students. If the relationship is not good, then it could mean that it will be a long school year and that is not fair to the teacher or student. Because of technology, it helps everyone stay on the same page and be on the right track. When technology is integrating into courses such as subject areas, it can then allow our teachers to turn into advisors for the students and make learning fun and more meaningful. However, incentives are provided to those who cooperate and have good spirits. Dr. Davis provides a program for the teachers that can help them complete a full semester without technical difficulties. During this program, the teachers are able to take advantage of basic computer literacy and the Microsoft Software. The teachers who are strong with participation earn software for free, a computer, and special services throughout the year. This helps encourage the teachers to reach out to the students. This is how it begins. Because of everyone working together, this allows the teachers to focus on technology use so they can then help students gain successful knowledge. In some states, teachers' technology skills are measured, and there are school-wide incentives to develop those skills (Education World, n.d., para.17). A good example to this is, the Rolla School District Teachers and staff to have a, Technology Competency Certificate. My boss not only told me this, but I also had to take a training course before I started my job back in 2017. It helps encourage our educators to motivate the students. Indeed, researchers have affirmed that computer technology provides abundant opportunities for students to build or modify their personal knowledge through the rich experiences that technology affords (O’Hara & Pritchard, 2014, para.1). When students are given a wider selection of tools and resources, they can then take advantage of that and focus on how they learn best. Navigating online is all done by choice, and because of different categories students increase pace and speed. Major improvements are more than possible to be shown by the end of the school year. Integrating technology into the classroom helps improve the learning environment the many styles that are involved with each student. Technology builds fourth graders self-esteem. The reason why is because of the instruction. It gives students step by step in direct detail. They learn better this way. The Rolla School District School Board has recognized that attendance has increased and drop out rates have decreased. This is what motivates the Rolla School District the most.
