The next time you are out shopping and you pick up a product you might like, stop and think whether or not that company has used animal testing to create that product. Some items include make up and cleaning supplies or other items that you use in your everyday life. Animal testing is when laboratories perform experiments on animals that cannot be done on humans. Animals that are mostly harmed in animal testing may include, but is not limited to mice, rats, frogs, dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, monkeys, fish, and birds. Another method of testing is giving a “lethal dose” which means that the animals are given enough of the product to kill them. That method allows for the testers to know how much is “lethal” to consume. Many companies use animal testing for a variety of different products.
