The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) was established in 1972, and its dedication has been solely to health care. It is currently the largest charity organization in the United States. It has played an enormous role in supporting programs and research towards the betterment of healthcare of the population of the U.S. (Palatnik, 2016). The primary goal of the foundation is to facilitate better and healthier living of people through initiatives that target specific areas that need a change in the health sector. In recognition of the multi-stakeholder approach to healthcare, professionals in the industry came have collaborated in primary and specialty care to establish coordinated and patient-centered services. However, the health sector cannot function without its workforce, especially nurses, who make up the largest human resource segment in the industry (Palatnik, 2016). Their large number makes them the ideal group that can spearhead provision of health services relating to community care, home care, long-term care, schools, public health, and ambulatory care among others (Palatnik, 2016). By clarifying the roles that the nurse was expected to play, the report plays a vital role in ensuring that nurses offer the best quality services possible. Nursing practice is a significant segment of the health sector and training or offering nurses the resources and the motivations that can facilitate learning, the resulting in their line of work is guaranteed. Secondly, on nursing education, the report outlines the critical areas that institutions of nursing learning need to put more emphasis on (Borger, 2012). Another importance of the report is that it recommends the development of a nursing workforce and ensuring that it is versed in the different settings, and thus facilitating the excellent delivery of care to patients.
