The American dream carries a different meaning for every person. The definition may also change according to the time period and situation. In many sources, the American dream is defined as the ideal that all United States citizens should have equal opportunity to obtain success and prosperity through dedication. Two famous speeches, “The Speech at the Virginia Convention” by Patrick Henry and “The Speech in the Constitutional Convention” by Benjamin Franklin, define the term American dream during the time we were fighting for our independence. Unfortunately, for some, it could mean wealth,status,or power whereas for others it could mean companionship, good morals,love,and amity. According to our Declaration of Independence, it entitles every man and woman the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Our belief in the American Dream is shown in history, in modern day, and in our culture, generation and beliefs of the current day. The immigrants that fled other countries for religious freedom and opportunity believed that America would provide them with freedom and opportunity.

We all have different opinions on the American Dream. For some we might believe that the american dream is where we should all have a good job, be rich, and live a fuller life. My opinion on this topic is that the American Dream for me is, We all need to have equal rights, earn money, to have a job, raise a family/support the family. There is many challenges for humans to achieve the American Dream like not being born in the same social class as others but I say that we all can achieve any dream if having the right mindset.

The Great American Dream The term “American Dream” for me means better quality of life. Immigrants from all over the world have traveled to The United States with the hope of having a better life. All of the immigrants have at least one reason to move out of their country because, it's not easy to leave all your life, all you know behind. When I say a better life it means to have a better financial establishment, a better job. It means that we will be able to have a better education, not only for your kids but for yourself too.
