• Instructional Strategies: Say and Display o Description of the Strategy: The strategy that I used during this lesson was Say and Display. Throughout the lesson, I projected different scenarios on the board for the students to read. I would read these scenarios aloud and discuss each one with the class as a whole. o Rationale for Utilizing the Strategy: I chose to use this strategy because there are certain students who have a difficulty reading in the classroom. Instead of projecting the scenarios on the board and having the students read them silently, in order to accommodate students, I read the scenarios aloud. o Evidence Supporting the Effectiveness of the Strategy: Based on the evidence from this lesson I would use this strategy again. Callbacks are used to gain the students attention throughout a lesson. The call back that I used for this lesson was Hocus Pocus, Everybody Focus. o Rationale for Utilizing the Strategy: I chose to use this classroom management strategy in order to gain the students attention all at once. Instead of repeatedly asking the students to quiet down, using a callback requires the entire class to respond to the teacher. o Evidence Supporting the Effectiveness of the Strategy: Based on the evidence, I would retain this strategy. This strategy proved to be effective because the students would recognize the call back and respond. I would use this strategy again because the students became excited and enjoyed the callbacks throughout the lesson. o Improving Classroom Management and Organization Based on the events that occurred during this lesson I would improve the time management aspect of this lesson.
