Moreover, I hope to find other organizations and opportunities to serve others, either on or off campus, that will make others' lives better, possibly even becoming involved in initiatives run by the local school system, since I hope to be heavily involved in at least one of the local schools as I
We don’t do a basic internship, we place them in role and give them experiences to help groom them to do the job and pay them at a rate that is equal to or better than our competition. Our internship helps us retain most of the students who participate in our program. It’s our primary way to attract most of our new leaders. Colleges and interns tell us our program is one of the best out there and students compete for the opportunity we provide.” (11).
I absolutely loved my internship, my volunteer work, and my leadership role. I learned through these experiences that even the smallest person may make a difference in their community. I know this sounds a little cheesy, but it’s true. In my leadership role with the Campaign to Keep Guns Off Campus, I worked to engage students in the importance of lobbying their local elected officials. It is my job to train and create the materials that will be used when lobbing the state congressional members.
That I are useful to help those among my the freshmen ,but then I can also help my community after I graduate or go on to college and become a Peer Leader there
I would like to join NYC Ladders for Leaders because I believe this program could help me in various ways. First, it would help me gain more work experiences. Even though school is important, I believe work experiences are equally important. There are some skills and knowledge that cannot be learned in a classroom; for instance, in a classroom, we just read about how to respond to different situations. Undergoing the situation in real life can be very different and can teach us something we can’t learn in school.
Through the experience of working as youth leader for freshman connection I have grown as a better leader. To help incoming freshman was incredible experience for me. I joined freshman connection to serve school and defiantly to get knowledge and team building skills out of it, so that it can help me make my college experience better. I think I have achieved all the goals that I wanted to through working as youth leader. Additionally, not only that but also to work on community service project on bullying has really allowed me to serve as teacher helper.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been the most interested in the latter. Being able to travel beyond our own planet, and using that resource to in turn help the planet and what’s on it is one of the most important things we have achieved so far. This interest has prompted me to work hard in and out of school, and to become involved in many activities that will help me become an aerospace engineer. The NASA SEES High School Internship would be a very useful and exciting opportunity to help me on my way to achieve that goal. I would be a good candidate for the program because I am determined, eager to learn, and would put what I gain from the program to good use.
Through my graduate studies, volunteer experiences, and mentorship, I hope to learn how to become an effective leader and a person who can make a difference in the world by finding ways and means to better serve the children and the youths in our communities and
My personal leadership philosophy is more compassionate than I realized. As shown in Exercise one, which analyzes if you focus more on being power-oriented, achievement-oriented, and concerned with human welfare. My scores for that exercise came out to be: Column One- 18, Column Two- 29, and Column Three- 25. This means I have a strong concern for human welfare than being power-oriented and achievement-oriented, but I am more achievement-oriented than power-oriented. This was interesting as I always thought I was power-oriented because I like to be in charge and not bossed around.
My leadership philosophy is to my empower subordinates to make decisions and accept some risk when doing so. I value training, mentoring, and developing confident, competent leaders. I believe that to retain quality Soldiers, I need to providing tough, realistic, quality training to keep them engaged in the unit mission. I believe in “powering down”, I trust my subordinates and peers to make competent decisions. I am not a believer in a “zero-defects” mentality; generally, we learn more from honest mistakes than we do from success, and without accepting an appropriate level of risk to seek innovative solutions to complex problems, we will not achieve the level of excellence, which we are capable.
I have been fortunate in my career to have earned leadership roles at several organizations. I worked as a Systems Engineering Manager for a subsidiary of a Fortune 500 company, held technical lead positions at two global information security consulting firms, and currently serve as the Practice Leader and Principal Consultant of a successful information security services practice. In this essay, I will discuss the leadership qualities that I value most and describe how I have endeavored to demonstrate these attributes in my current position. Effective leaders lead by example and inspire behavior with their daily actions.
Yunjing Huang ACM465 Final Exam Art leadership Personal leadership statement I want to connect more and more people through art and make efforts to deal with the issues of climate change and save the planet. I would try to get more people involved in art and have clear goals for the group so that one remains well organized, self-motivated and inspire each other every day to raise awareness on environmental issues. Whatever we do, where ever we live, we are all connected to art in some way or the other.
As a freshman at my high school, we are given two senior mentors known as Peer Leaders. Peer leaders guide and help ease the transition throughout the year for the freshman. When I was a freshman one of my peer leaders was Diana Gonzalez, a current Tulane student. Diana inspired me in numerous ways and helped me become the person I am today. I can truthfully say without her guidance I would not have found my passion in the performing arts and would not have had the inspiration to become a Peer Leader myself this year.
Leadership Statement I pride myself in being a good listener, and this has helped in all the leadership roles I held throughout my life thus far. I have experienced democratic leaderships through being a part of groups in college for class presentations, being a choir leader in my church, being a volunteer in a few projects, at my place of work and also as being a part of my family. The attributes of being a good leader has expanded with time through these experiences. Some of valuable leadership traits that I have been able to obtain and strengthen over time include: how to be a team player, effective listening skills, delivering constructive criticism, the need to understand people’s temperaments, and how to be a problem solver and a risk-bearer.
