Statement Of Purpose: Rutgers Upward Bound Student

I am a part of the Rutgers Upward Bound program and when they assign us to do group projects on a university. I assign each of my group members a job title in order to tackle on the project successfully and smoothly. We work as a team to design and construct our project which is sometimes as a powerpoint or poster. When it is time present our project I usually put on flashcards who should present what. I make sure everyone in my group does the job they had to do and ask them if they need any help.
As a regularly volunteer at the George Street Co-op. I have the opportunity to welcome a new volunteers and help assist to train them as cashiers.

Particularly, as a NBHS Peer leader a student is a mentor who helps a freshmen make a successful transition from into high school. I want to be a Peer Leader because I want to share my experiences that I have had throughout my high school career and help the freshmen not make the same mistakes I made. Learning and guiding students brings me a sense of value that I am actually taking part and making a difference in someone’s life. I can contribute to the program interaction and build a peer relationships with different students and use my developing skills to further use throughout my life. I will benefit from participating because I know it will help me train and gain new leadership skills. My teacher would say I am open minded because when there is a class discussion I do not ignore another student’s idea. I listen to their ideas and collaborate. A teacher would I am determined because I do allow negative obstacles to get in the way. I know if something needs to be done it will be done no matter what. My teacher would also say I am reflective because I can connect ideas from past lessons to current lessons. Which creates a more effective idea to an assignment. Finally, they would say I am respectful because I do not make unnecessary or inappropriate comments. I included my classmates and help when needed with a good positive
