To become a leader a person has to understand and accept that change needs to happen. A vision of change needs to be created along with a plan of execution. The hardest part of becoming a leader is persuading people into believing that your vision is the best option and you are capable of successfully implementing the changes. Leadership can be defined as, “an influence relationship among leaders and followers with intend real changes and outcomes that reflect their shared purpose.” (Daft, 2015, p. 5) Over the next several pages there will be a written analysis and compare and contrast of two of the greatest leaders in science of the 20th and 21st century, Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking. Both are two of the most influential scientists of all time. They knew there was more to the world that the eye could see and were determined to open people’s minds about their thoughts.

He received his diploma in 1901 in the field of teaching physics and mathematics. His search for a teaching job was unsuccessful, but he did take a position as a technical assistant in a patent office. He completed his doctorate in 1905. Einstein had a very successful career publishing ground breaking papers and as a professor. His most famous papers are special theory of relativity, motion of particles suspended in liquid, equivalence of matter and energy (E=mc2), photoelectric effect, and the general theory of relativity. In 1922 he was awarded the noble prize in Physics of his work in theoretical physics and his discovery of the law of photoelectric effect. He lived out the rest of his life researching and teaching. He died on April 18th, 1955 from an aneurysm at the age of 76. He lived a very full life and to this day he is still influencing
