Leadership philosophy helps a leader to thrive and achieve remarkable milestones. As part of the leadership philosophy, leaders should possess and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills because they positively impact leadership outcomes. A good leader should have emotional intelligence, demonstrate competence, establish relational leadership, understand others, integrity, incorporate diversity, a good understanding of their environment, understanding teams or groups, understand change, and understand strategies for change. A leader must first understand the environment in terms of a group or an organization and then take into consideration the mission, vision, and core values (Komives et al., 2013).
