Before I begin describing the three important leadership qualities I value the most, I first have to introduce the Franklin Passion Impact Volunteer Fair Program. Passion Impact is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower students to find their passions through volunteering. A major event we host every year is the Volunteer Fair where we invite local non-profit organizations to our school and give students the opportunity to learn about them. This program consists of seven committees: the Executive, Development, Non-profit, Volunteer, Marketing, Media, and Event Planning committee. It is especially important during stressful times when it seems like a goal is out of reach. Therefore, they must stay confident and persist, because their positive energy will inspire their teammates to work harder. It is just as important for a leader to trust and understand the weaknesses and strengths of their team. By having a strong understanding of the entire team, it enables the leader to delegate tasks easier without micromanaging their teammates. Micromanaging prevents members from making their own decisions which may impair their growth. Good leaders allow their team to be creative and make decisions while also fulfilling the task requirements. From my personal experience, leaders that regularly nag their teammates to get things done a certain way will overwhelm their teammates and create a sense of distrust in their minds. However, there are times when members do not complete the tasks given to them, thus leading to the third characteristic of a leader. They must make sure that everyone is accountable for what they are doing. This is very important at the beginning where everyone should be given a detailed and clear understanding of their role and responsibilities. The leader then must be able to place some pressure on the team regarding their responsibilities. Moreover, members who do well should be recognized for their contribution while members that struggle should receive help to improve. Members are then more motivated to achieve their goals and know that their hard work has an impact on the
