The goal is used to increase an employee’s motivation, satisfaction, and empowerment so they can become productive within the organizational structure. In a franchise store, many managers use this theory to clear a path so employees know what to do in the organization, remove roadblocks that stop them to progressing, and create incentives to motivate staff. There are four styles to this type of leadership and they are:
Participation leadership is when a manager consults with employees to make decisions. This is done through meetings and workshops to help improve the performance of employees.

This can be seen through both good and bad leadership styles. If a leader is bad than the morale of the organization will be poor and employees will leave the organization due to the hostile environment. A good leadership style will motivate employees to become future leaders, while encouraging a healthy work environment. Employees will feel motivated to stay with a company when they are happy with the leader and will be motivated to be more productive. A bad leadership style will incur people to be less productive in the workplace environment. Leadership and management go hand in hand. One cannot be done without the other in an organization. The difference between the two is a leader influences emotional and social skills, while management deals with behavior of employees. Leadership and management are important for motivating and influencing to be employees to excel in their work performance. Leaders set the goals and standards for management to follow and so they can relay the information to employees. Leadership is done by establishing a concise vision and mission of the goals of an organization. The one thing I aspire to do as a leader is to motivate my staff to be the best at what they do, while achieving their goals for personal growth. People strive to be the best in their craft and learn from people they consider being mentors. In my role as a manager, I always educate myself to be the best at my craft and teach my staff to do the same. The motto for our store is “Never stop learning while striving to be the best at your craft”. This is an important lesson for all of us.
