The book I chose for my book report is called Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz. The reason why I chose this book because the cover caught my eye, then read the back and thought was interesting story. It a fictional story about the blue bloods which later learn means vampires. The story begins with a girl named Schuyler Van Alen, who is being raised by her distant grandmother named Cordelia. Her mother has been in coma for nearly all of Schuler life.
Specifically, I want to practice family law, and help families try to stay together, even in the worst kinds of situations. I hope to influence legislation to give children more rights in the court system because I believe that they do not have enough. Finally, I hope to come back to the Independence Youth Court and serve as a mentor for volunteers just like me who need guidance in their college and career planning. I hope to continue my work with the Independence Youth Court long after I pass the Bar
I am passionate about history, fascinated by politics, and in love with people. I strongly believe that my happiness depends on further enlightenment and unmediated engagement in an active, vibrant and inspiring community, such as Wellesley’s. I hope to earn a law degree
I yearn to help fight for justice in our legal system to ensure that perpetrators pay for their crimes and prevent the wrongful imprisonment of youths the American community. As a student in school, I joined several organizations to help accomplish my career goals. Currently, as an Early Admissions student at Palm Beach State College, I serve as the Director of Diversity and Awareness on the Campus Activities Board, a Student Government Senator, and Secretary of the U.S. History Club. Participating in these clubs have allowed me to be open minded to other possibilities and experience the real world. Consequently, in the future I intend to fight for justice in our legal system as an attorney and serve my country as a federal agent.
“Mockingbirds don’t do one thing but make music for us to enjoy. They don’t eat up people’s gardens, don’t nest in corncribs, they don’t do one thing but sing their hearts out for us. That’s why it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.” No quote has rung in the ears of American citizens quite like this one from the literary classic, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. This revolutionary story is about the happenings in a small town in Alabama and how Atticus Finch and his family fight for what’s right in a system that’s stacked against them.
I want more opportunities to apply a person-centric and collaborative approach to service that empowers people to improve their own quality of life. In the short term, I want to dedicate the summers during law school entirely to public service internships in places like the Department of Justice or in Congressional legal offices. In the long term, I want to prosecute systematic corruption, tackle fraud, and fight for oppressed communities as a federal prosecutor or even an attorney general. Like the disabled veteran I met, so many disadvantaged individuals are forgotten and left to fend for themselves against the systemic oppression and indifference. As a lawyer, I hope to partner with victims of indifference and oppression, like the people of Ferguson, Missouri and Flint, Michigan so to empower them to improve their quality of life through the legal process.
Batman had Robin, Sherlock had Watson, peanut butter has jelly and attorneys have paralegals. You can have one without the other, but if you do, you won 't be getting the best. One of the reasons I aspire to be a paralegal is for the fact that they are the "behind-the-scenes" players that are vital to a law office. Paralegals are the backbone of a lot of attorneys. Paralegals think on their feet and know just about everything.
First and foremost graduating on February 27th 2015 with Class 002 of The Massachusetts Trial Court Officer Academy has to be my initial goal. Without completing this academy all the additional personal goals I have set for myself will mean nothing. Setting personal goals is my way to achieve the hard to reach accomplishments I strive for. Although there may be one main objective, before I can reach it, I set many “step goals” to focus on along the way. My first set of “step goals” was the application, résumé, and interview process to which I sought out a person I knew whose job was to read résumés and conduct interviews for the company Lockheed Martin.

Growing up, one fact about me was becoming a lawyer was not my initial plan. As cliché and repetitive that sounds; it is the truth. Even when I’ve graduated college, I still had a difficult time thinking of who I really wanted to be. But what I did know was I needed to work on becoming more focused and driven about my life. I’m the youngest of three in my family and that has defiantly spoiled me tremendously.
I would like to end up as a judge of some time career-wise. More immediately, I see myself working a government job while in law school. A government job would hopefully get me good connections for a future career as either a prosecutor or defender. The law career is interesting to me because it is a little bit of every subject. There is a performance aspect to it, especially when considering the public speaking component.
I am Linnette Leon, and I desire to become an entertainment lawyer. Growing up I’ve always had a strong fascination for law and the passion for music. I was raised with my family being involved in both law, and politics as well as music and songwriting. My mom taught me to have an open mind to music and gave me the freedom to learn and advance in an instrument. In the other end, my dad gave me the knowledge of the real world and kept me aware to the problems we face every day, and I’ve learned to not only stand up for my opinion, but as well as acknowledge and understand what others have to say.
In the world of law enforcement, there are known increased exposure to dangerous situations. As a police officer, I have an increased exposure to criminals on a daily basis throughout my assigned shift. I rely on my training when faced with a situation where those levels of danger increase. In addition, I wear a kevlar vest to protect my major organs in the event of a shooting, I practice weapon retention, draw, as well as target practice for instances when I may need to use or protect my firearm in the event of an altercation. In order to reduce the level of danger, I would need to leave law enforcement.

At this time in our very lives we are planning for the future and making a ladder for ourselves of goals to reach. As you climb higher on the ladder you find yourselves aspiring to take actions that may be more difficult than we imagined. This is just the beginning and we do not give up. As the years come faster I made a list of the things that I am planning on persuing. My major career goal is to go into buisness, and within the buisness industry I want to become a Human Resources Manager.
