Martin Luther King Jr Accomplishments

There are only a few people throughout history that can be called essential or marvelous due to their accomplishments, successes, and their ability to forever change the current society that individuals live in today. Imagine going to the library and looking in the biography section, the people found on these shelves with millions of books written about them are the individuals who have made outstanding discoveries for the world. One of those individuals was Dr. Martin Luther King Junior. King is most acknowledged for being one of the most influential voices of the American civil rights movement and widely known for his “I Have a Dream” speech. He was a Baptist minister and social activist who advocated for nonviolence protests and organizations

Martin Luther King Jr. accomplished many things throughout his life, but most importantly he continuously fought for black equality through non-violent protests and movements. One of the many protests supported and lead by King was that of public transportation which is when they fought for equality for blacks by making several requirements for treatments of African Americans. The demands made by king were the following, “Negro passengers would be treated politely by bus drivers, seating was first come first serve, Negros may sit in the back or front the same for whites…”(Baker 36). This act was a boycott on all public transportation in which those in the black community carpooled, walked, or rode their bikes instead of using a bus or taxi. This moment lead by King brought equality in the some public transportation. The boycott went on for many months, and through the winter, but King continued to persuade those in the community to protests for their rights. Even though the measures were non-violent King was continually arrested, receiving hate mail or thread, and at one point his home was bombed. Throughout all of this King continued to preach non violence to his followers and fellow community members (“Martin Luther King Jr.”). Throughout all of Kings essential protests he always taught his followers to never use cruelty in their campaigns. He was continuously threatened and included yet he became one of the best leaders in the CIvil Rights Movement because he never was afraid to fight for equality. Those who partook in the event s of the CIvil Rights Movement fought to achieve equal opportunity, employment, education, and housing. “These efforts contributed to the eventual desegregation of stores, busses and bus stations”(“Martin Luther King Jr.”). Martin Luther King played on e of the most important leadership roles in the movement, delivering speeches and visiting churches or cities around the United States. His excellent management of these events caused the movement to accplplihs equality in stores, public bathrooms, on busses, and many other positions in communities. His actions affected America so immensely helped pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Overall, through his leadership and multiple efforts in the Civil Rights Movement he inspired
