Micro car manufacturing Limited, which is one of the biggest vehicle manufacturing companies in Srilanka, will plan to make a four-seater car called ‘Micro’, which will be rolled out in a 5-years time. The car will be priced modestly at $4000 and will be suitable for a small sized family to travel. Mission statement: to create a car that is affordable by middle and lower-middle class section of the society and gives a pleasant riding experience to our consumers. Vision statement: By 2025, at least 60% of Australian population will travel by Micro as this car will be cheap, convenient and fuel-efficient. Value statement: The director ‘Alex ’ had a vision of creating a car that can be afforded by every Australian. Putting this into our perspective, it can be realised that Micro have a great opportunity to be accepted by the consumer given its lowest price combined with 4-year warranty, convenient and fuel efficient car. Micro costs around $4000, while the rest of the cars cost more than $7,500. The difference in the cost is almost double, which makes it more appealing to the consumer. This car’s space and aesthetics is a compromise between a luxurious, aesthetic car, which is generally high price and non-fuel efficient and a general functional car. These characteristics are most likely to be accepted by a general mass (middle class) whose income is not high enough to buy expensive cars.
