Middle School Interview Report

Understanding my future students development as well as their learning styles is a key aspect for providing them with the proper education. The two samples I provided to focus on the first three standards are my middle school interview essay and my scenario based math lesson plan. The reason I believe that these show my understanding of the learner and learning is because they both fit the standards explanation well. My interview paper shows that I have studied middle school development and understand that every student develops differently. Here I will present the artifacts of my Project Learning Tree Certificate as well as my mentor teacher evaluation forms. The main part of standard 9 and standard 10 is to show how I seek professional development and how I reach out to other professionals to make myself a better teacher. The reason that I chose to select my Project Learning Tree as my professional development is because it correlates with the exact expectations that are required in standard 9. Project Learning Tree taught me many useful techniques to teach science and other subjects. Using this professional development to help perfect my teaching abilities will enable me to be the best teacher I can be. While professional development impacts me as a teacher, it will also impact the way I teach my subject in the classroom. Surprisingly, I now have more ways to teach my favorite subjects that not only make my content easier for students to understand, but they make my content more meaningful for the students. My last resource that I used was my mentor teacher’s evaluations. I believe these forms show that I seek collaboration from other professionals to help myself become better in my field. These evaluations help me fix the areas in my pedagogy that are my weakest. By fixing my weaknesses and turning them into strengths I am helping myself become a better professional while providing my students with the teacher they deserve. While the forms serve as my resource, I continuously seek advice and guidance from others to create new and exciting ways for my students to develop intellectually. Since I received professional development and other colleagues’ guidance in my field, I believe I am on the path to a successful career that is full of collaboration and leadership. Hopefully one day I can use my development to help other growing professionals become successful
