Mr. Collet's Homework Policy That Promote Positive Social Interaction?

In scenario number two, Mr. Collet’s homework policy does a great job of promoting positive social interaction. In Mr. Collet’s classroom, the way in which he interacts with students on the issue of homework is a terrific way to build positive social interaction in a much more personal manner. For example, Mr. Collet does not just assign homework; he often develops that night’s homework with input from students. Although homework is usually assigned, the interaction between Mr. Collet and his students to determine the homework is beneficial to positive social interaction because cooperation between him and his students will be used to determine the amount and level of homework given. This type of homework assigning allows for a relationship between Mr. Collet and his students to be full of respect, and positive social interaction. Another aspect of Mr. Collet’s Homework policy that encourages positive social interaction is his rules for late assignments and picking up graded work after a two-day period. Collet requires that students speak with him first to determine what may have gone wrong and suggestions can be made through teacher- student cooperation to make sure homework is turned in and picked up on time. It is important to make sure that the positives are focused upon and that the student feels that the conversation resulted in something positive rather than a punishment. Mr. Collet’s homework policy could be useful in promoting positive social interaction in my future fifth grade classroom with a few exceptions and additions.
