Dedication is the commitment to a task or purpose. I have been a dedicated member of orchestra since fifth grade, being a part of the orchestra for eight years has helped me work with others and collaborate. The ability to work together with others during rehearsals so that during competitions we sound amazing has helped me grow as a person because I have learned to work with other people that have a common interest. The hard work and dedication it takes to be playing the cello for as long as I have shows perseverance, discipline, and commitment, providing me the opportunity to perform as an ensemble in Carnegie Hall. There are several things that I have learned through being a section leader, it is not just an individual effort, but everyone plays a key role. I have learned to continue to move forward when there are setbacks and there is someone that is better than me, or someone that needs my help to become better. Being a member of quiz bowl has been very fun, I learned a lot of facts and was able to compete against some of the smartest people in our district.Through my experiences competing in quiz bowl, I trusted others and worked with them to get the solution to any question that was given to us. My quiz bowl team was some of my closest friends, we each had something we were really good at, whether it be math, science, or history, each of us combined our knowledge to answer the questions that we were asked during competitions. It was not always easy, but our dedication to quiz bowl allowed us to compete in district events to represent our school, and the time we put into practicing has helped us to set goals and achieve
