Often times students found themselves having to sit in their chairs with two feet flat on the floor, good posture, and chins up. Every student had to take AR quizzes for reading every week. My teacher Ms.Giller would have bright orange bins of books we could take a quiz on in the back of the room. For me tests and quizzes always intimidated me. I hated going to the computer lab where the quiz was taken. The room was always dark and the walls were bare.
The self-assessments were very interesting. There was a wide variety of careers that matched my personality from Adjudicator to Zoologist. There were quite a few I had never considered, such as Soil Conservationist, Toxicologist and Petroleum Engineer. Many of the careers were in the fields of physical and life sciences, engineering and math. Although I like activities that have a systematic component, I most enjoy finding my way instead of just following what’s already there.

Self as a Life Learner I recognize traits of myself in the results of the Index of Learning Styles Questionnaire, developed by Richard M. Felder and Barbara A. Solomon from North Carolina State University (n.d.). I like to learn facts and pay attention to the details of things. I absorb information better when it is on paper. I learn most subjects easily if I have written material and enough time to study. I have also identified some weaknesses.
