My first writing assignment in composition one did not go too well. Writing used to come easy to me. I would be able to write a paper in one night and manage to get a good grade. But I knew college writing would be more difficult, but not this difficult. I am starting to make more time on my papers and it is taking me more than one night to complete writing assignments for my classes. But this assignment has made realize that I have a lot I need to improve on for this class. I now have more weaknesses than I thought. Some of the strengths that I had pointed out in my preliminary writing, I still have. I did not know I was good at introductions, there was a comment on my writing assignment that I did a nice job on my introduction. The other strength that I did not know I had was having a clear thesis statement in my writing assignment. My thesis statement was “He has not only inspired me but has been my life teacher, best friend, and teacher. “I have always had a problem with constructing a strong, clear thesis statement. In the papers I would write in high school I would never place my thesis statement in the right place. The last strength that was recognized on my paper was my MLA format. I had done the MLA format correctly and before I would have trouble remembering everything that you have to for the MLA format.
