I am most attracted to Loma Linda University’s mission to make man whole and continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ and its commitment to faith and science. As a Seventh-day Adventist christian, the motto to make man whole has never been more personal than it is now. As I grow in my experience as a christian, to further the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus continues to take center stage. This mission and an understanding of the need for whole person care is something I seek to demonstrate and encourage through my profession as a nurse and involvement in my community.
As a prospective member of the Masters of Arts in History program at Liberty University I hope to accomplish several things. I am currently serving as a high school history teacher and this program will benefit both my students and myself alike in the foreseeable future. This includes reaching the goals of earning my master’s degree which will result in a higher level of professional knowledge in my content area, while increasing my income simultaneously. This is not the only positive factor, Liberty’s program will also contribute directly to growth in regards to my relationship with Jesus Christ.
I see myself being an engaged member of the WCU and Brinson Honors College community by being involved in community service opportunities, becoming a member of leadership organizations, and taking advantage of opportunities to study and serve in a different country or to participate in undergraduate studies. I plan to be engaged in the WCU community by being involved in all that I can be involved in. Specifically, I hope to become involved in at least one of the faith-based groups on campus, such as the Baptist Student Fellowship at WCU or the Campus Crusade for Christ. Becoming involved in faith-based organizations is important to me and will allow me to love God and love people better by learning more about God and participating in service projects that will share his love and truth. Additionally, I want to join a local Church family, where I hope to serve in various aspects of the Church, especially those that involve children, something that I am passionate about.
With over 170 student clubs and organizations, who could ever get bored on Hofstra University’s campus? I have worked so hard in school waiting for a moment like this. UNCW would be a great challenge for me, but it would also help me out immensely. UNCW has a excellent education program and that is exactly the field of study I aim to go into. I spent approximately half of my sophomore year at the early college tutoring at Dobson Elementary. I cherished every second helping my fifth grade class.
Ever since I was a freshman, NYU has always been appealing to me. Not only is it centered in one of the most beautiful and opportunistic cities in the world, it’s also known for its academic rigor, an important requirement that I’m looking for in whichever college I choose to attend. Even though since I started looking at colleges my intended major has changed a couple of times, NYU has always been on my list as my so you call “dream school”. Of all the schools I’m applying to, I believe that I would receive the most fulfilling college experience from this institution. This is due to the fact that being centered in New York City provides a lot of opportunities for networking, which will be especially helpful to my future career as a dietitian.
College is one of the most stimulating stages we experience, it's the very first step as we trail up the ascending staircase to our goals and desires. NYU is the college of my greatest interest as I am aware of the opportunities which this school will provide me with. As a child of immigrants who have come to this country to see their daughter prosper academically, I know that my parents can rest assured that I will be able to explore the wide range of programs which are tailored to students needs. More specifically the field of Neural Science. NYU is one of the schools in New York City with a valued Neural Science Program.
University of Chicago has the major I am interested in, Biological Sciences with a concentration in Neuroscience. Through the wide variety of study abroad opportunities the university offers, I could study about Middle Eastern civilizations in Jerusalem or civilizations while in Vienna. Along with studying abroad, I would love to take a Big Problem course in my senior year of college. A Big Problem course would give me the skills and knowledge needed to face major problems in the field I desire to pursue, the medical field. I aspire to become a pediatric neurologist to help alleviate the impact a mental or intellectual disability has on children with special needs.
New York University’s fervor to educate future leaders of tomorrow, its dedication to advance the frontiers of scientific research, and its commitment to create a diverse, thriving community–these philosophies are what inspire me to attend NYU. Climate change is one of the most severe problems our global community faces, and already, populations from around the world are vulnerable to issues of water sanitation, food shortages, and security risks. Through my experience leading Give Hope with Soap – a global service initiative providing clean water to the people of Malawi, Africa – I discovered nearly thirty-three percent of the world’s population lives without access to freshwater. Even worse, by 2025, two-thirds of the planet could suffer from freshwater shortages. With the drastic rise in these problems throughout the world, I believe producing ample, clean water will require innovative thinking and unique solutions.
The University of Chicago, as I know it now, satisfies my desire for a particular kind of learning, community, and future. The University of Chicago’s website states: “Our goal is to offer students a wide range of out-of-class experiences that build skills in preparation for academics and life in a community of scholars.” Throughout life, I have enjoyed out-of-class experiences related to what was currently being taught in school. These experiences have not only helped me understand was being taught, but they have helped me enjoy the subjects that I did not so highly favor. For this reason, I concur with this promotion style of educational development due to the fact that it brings me the same joy as I used to have when I woke up for school
As I approach the end of my memorable high school career, I feel I have a clear idea of what I intend to achieve at the University of Illinois. My desire is to major in the study of Physics. Along the way, I wish to contribute to research and to participate in the many clubs the university offers. Subsequent to my education at the university, my plans reside between teaching an upper-level education and to conduct research regarding astrophysical phenomena. I was first properly introduced to physics during my junior year of high school when I enrolled in my school’s only physics curriculum.
Membership in Ball State University's Honors College presents an opportunity for me to be surrounded by peers who share a similar commitment to academic excellence. I am eager to build beneficial connections with like-minded students who take their education seriously. Furthermore, I look forward to interacting with professors who will challenge me to grow to my full potential. I believe that this stimulating and rigorous academic environment will push me to excel academically and personally.
I’ve always wanted to live in the city, and going to NYU has the advantage over west coast cities since I would be close to my family. The summers of my younger years were spent with my grandparents in New York City. I remember looking out at awe as I rode the subway across the Manhattan bridge. During the school year, my family would often go on the weekends from our home in New Jersey into Manhattan to have some dim sum and go shopping. Of course, the city also has practical features.
Happiness: the emotional state I strive to be in every day. My top goal in life is to spend as many days as I can happy and therefore, I only want to do things that make me happy. That being said, I’m ecstatic to be attending NYU for music business because it is the only school with the academic program tailored specifically to my dream career. Academically, I not only want to gain as much knowledge about the music business as possible, but also learn how to apply everything that I’ve learned in class to my life. I’m confident that NYU will teach me massive amounts of information about the music business and how to be successful within it, and I believe that the university will make me question the status quo and challenge me to change it.
