Introduction.
In this assignment I am going to talk about the recruitment documentation used in an organisation, the main employability, personal and communicational skills required when applying for a specific job role and for the merit I am going to discuss the importance of employability and personal skills in the recruitment and retention of staff in an organisation.

HR Department Role for BA.
Human Resources Department play a crucial role in British Airways, as they recruit employees, selection and interview them for selected vacancies within British Airways. The department also handle staff relations and select, employ and train new staff so that the new employees can meet the changing market

The first process for the recruitment and selection process is the Job Analysis, which is when the HR Department look at what the job duties, responsibilities and requirement for the Customer Services Representative vacancy are. The second process is the Job Description and Personal Specification and this is when the Human Resources Department would review the different duties and responsibilities the role would have. The Personal Specification is where the HR Department would describe what they would want their employees to have, it would either be desirable or essential for the role of the job.
After the Job Description and Personal Specification is completed the HR Department would then look to Advertising the vacancy, either internally or externally. If they are Advertising internally they could email who they would see is suitable for the job they could also advertise on the intranet, noticeboards, leaflets etc. if they are advertising externally they could use agencies, social media, posters, indeed, advertise on their website and any other approaches that would attract people towards the vacancy. Once the Advertising process is completed the HR Department would receive applications for the vacancy which could be completed online and in-store. The purpose for the Personal Specification is to allow their applicants to be aware of what the employers (British Airways) require them to have, this would allow BA to reduce the amount of people applying for the vacancy who don’t have the set requirements and focus on the applicants that would allow BA to spend less money on training their applicants as they would already have some experience and knowledge on the role of Customer Service Representative. The Personal Specification document helps split what BA would essentially want and what they would desire their applicants to
