Leadership Philosophy

Leadership Philosophy is the key to success or failure as a leader. As a leader, I am human and sometimes make mistakes like everyone else, but I believe if you give someone the necessary tools for success then there is nothing they cannot achieve. I live my life according to that statement and encourage Soldiers to do the same as well.

My leadership philosophy is simple treat others the way you want to be treated. I believe that a soldier would be willing to follow you anywhere if you show them respect and warmth. I will always have my door open and I am willing to hear anyone problems, as long as it is a legit problem and not just a gripe. I want them to fill comfortable around me and in doing so they will be more inclined to voice their concerns to me and help me be a more effective leader.
I do not think you can be an effective leader without Soldiers who are not afraid to talk to you and let you know how he or she feels about their opinions of the unit and my leadership. I will provide Soldiers with ample materials and time to do their job efficiently. I communicate often with higher leadership and them as well to make sure I have the correct information to make the mission happen. I will never leave them in the dark when it comes to information. I believe you should always complete task to standard and time. We often fail as leaders when we do not communicate and provide our soldiers with the materials and time needed to complete missions or tasks. It is very important to state the task at hand and ask questions to make sure everyone understands what is going on. We often get caught up the concept that everyone is aware of what is going on, because it is on the training schedule that was emailed out at the beginning of the week.
