The ability that the study of engineering has to revolutionize the entire world completely fascinates me. Though the field of engineering is extremely broad, one thing that all fields have in common is that engineers apply their knowledge, ideas, and education in order to create helpful, innovative, and unique things that often change the world for the better. This very potential for engineering to completely change the world, starting from one simple idea, is what excites me about the field of engineering. Ordinary people are able to take an idea and transform it into a reality that can affect many other people. Computer Science has always been a subject of interest to me, as, growing up, the world around me has been filled with the study. However, being introduced to computer science through my past internships at Qualcomm (2015) and Tencent (2016) has especially sparked my interest in this subject; these hands on experiences have allowed for me to see the application of computer science in engineering up close and in the real world. As I would like a broader knowledge about computer science as a whole, this three week crash course is perfect; I would able to gain a solid foundation for which I can build additional computer science knowledge beyond the class. Nanotechnology has also been somewhat of a childhood mystery, posing an ever-present question regarding the extent of what one can do with this fascinating field. I hope that this course be able to teach the basics and workings of nanotechnology at the fundamental level, thereby allowing for me to understand the various branches of nanotechnology better while providing a platform for which I can build off with future endeavors into the
