There are multiple reasons why I have chosen to major in Engineering. One of the biggest reasons is due to my strengths in math, physics, and science while in high school. I have taken part in the Project Lead the Way Engineering program each year in my high school, and it has by far been my favorite class. The class has helped with my decision to become an engineer, it has led me to believe that while Engineering involves lots of hard work, it is also fun, engaging and doesn’t seem to get boring. Another reason is due the increase in need for engineers each day. I am also choosing Engineering due to the idea that I will face challenges which I enjoy, and I will also get to be creative. I want to become a biomedical engineer because I want to have the opportunity to make an impact with the innovation of medical devices whether it is simple knee braces or high tech prosthetics. I also feel that applying engineering procedures to the human body is very intriguing, and would be rewarding. I would also love to be able to assist in helping benefit the future of healthcare. Another reason I am choosing Biomedical Engineering is because I get to directly improve the health and wellbeing of others and possibly change lives for the better. This scholarship will assist me by helping me pay off a lot of college debt I will encounter while perusing my degree in Biomedical engineering. It will give me the opportunity to focus more on my education and worry less about my financial status while in college. This scholarship will also benefit me financially by allowing me to further my education after my bachelors without worrying about how to pay off my student debt. Getting this scholarship to me means that I will be able to attend a tremendous Engineering school, such as the University of Akron to further my education. Without scholarships, I probably would not be able to afford going to a good college. It also means getting to focus on being a student and not about the debt I will face
