Throughout the course of my educational experience I have been fortunate to meet many inspirational teachers, this has offered a keen awareness of the immeasurable impact teachers can have on the lives children and young people. I believe great teachers not only inspire their pupils, but also nurture their minds and equip them with the skills to face the varied challenges presented by life. I see teachers as positive role models, who cultivate the minds of young people, enabling them to critically evaluate the world. Recent school experience has shown how teachers can facilitate children becoming independent learners, furnishing them with the skills to think creatively and take responsibility for their own learning. With this in mind I would like to become a primary school teacher, to have a direct impact on the lives of children, but to also impart knowledge to help individuals become independent thinkers and learners.

I have learnt how to effective deescalate heightened situations, how to positively support and manage challenging behaviour, and how to instil and maintain boundaries. Furthermore previous management experience has offered a valuable insight into motivating, coaching and developing people. Moreover I have dealt with conflict and disciplinary issues through utilising my excellent communication skills and the effective management of relationships.
