Personal Statement: A Career In Early Childhood Education

The majority of my life has been spent at a school. This is not because of the hours that I have spent during school hours, but because both of my parents are school teachers. I have seen nearly every aspect of teaching and decided that I want to pursue a career in Early Childhood Education. I have a great passion and love for kids. Anything to help children succeed is something I am interested in. The impact that teachers have on their students’ lives is great. I want to make an impact in this world, so what better way than giving the gift of education? The thought of changing a child’s life for the better makes me so excited. To be an educator to multiple children would be a privilege, especially compared to the educators of the past. Education has not always been offered to everyone. Not only do teachers have to teach the basics and requirements of education, they have to sometimes take on the responsibility of teaching a student right and wrong, what love is, and how to be themselves. Teachers have to give students a quality education and show them how to be a civilized person. The hours of work that they are paid for are about 8 hours a day, but a teacher is never off the job. They may only work 9 months a year, but they teach year round. Once a teacher, always a teacher. The qualifications of a teacher aren’t based on gender, age, or physical health. A teaching job is completely based on education, personality, and passion. Most teaching jobs require you to have a bachelor’s or master’s degree. The personality of a teacher is normally seen through their cooperation, self-control, dependability, caring heart, and adaptability. A teacher must be diverse. A teacher must have a passion for children. They must want to help people. They must be loving. If an applicant has the education, personality, and passion for kids, the job is pretty much
