I believe that teachers have one of the most important jobs: educating children so that they can find their passion and begin their careers when they grow up. If you think about it, we would not have the engineers, doctors, lawyers, and other such occupations if there were not any teachers and professors to educate them. Every teacher’s goal is to, “Instruct students,... adapt teaching methods,… establish and enforce rules for behavior,… and observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.” (Summary Report for: 25-2021.00 - Elementary School Teachers, Except Special Education). In this paper, I will be discussing the demand, degree plan, certificates necessary, universities, salary, and career pathway.
I have always had a great interest in becoming a teacher. In my life, I have had many inspirational teachers, but one has always been a role model to me. Mrs. Hill, my Middle School science teacher was the most funny, spontaneous, and encouraging teacher I’ve ever had. I believe one of the most important lessons she ever taught me was to do what you enjoy the most. If you don’t enjoy your job, then that is not what you are meant to do. Teaching certificates will allow me to teach in my own classroom. In order to get the certificate, I will have to meet some certification and licensing requirements. Teach.org has outlined the requirements which vary for each state. The first of Texas’ requirements is that you must have student teaching experience and/or first year mentoring of new teachers. The second requirement is to perform a criminal background checks and also confirm citizenship status. The final requirement is that you must complete a general teaching certification exam, such as a Praxis test, as well as a content-specific test for the subject or subjects that you want to
