I have always enjoyed the challenges of learning new things and have found Physics and Mathematics both stimulating and interesting, but have always known that my true passion is Chemistry; with its endless variation and multitude of applications its limits are only those that we cannot yet explain or have not yet thought of. This enthusiasm for the sciences stems from my parents, who instilled their love for the sciences in me. My passion was further developed for Chemistry in my primary school's yearly science week, where we took part in secondary school science demonstrations. The Chemistry sessions always gripped me the most, with all the strange lab equipment working away, it was awe inspiring; to this day chemistry intrigues me the same way it did back then. This is why I would like to increase my knowledge of the subject and more specifically how chemicals are analysed, the different methods of analytical chemistry as well as looking more in depth at the properties of substances. …show more content…
Upon completing my AS studies I became the only remaining Chemistry student in my year group. While continuing to attend Gateacre to accomplish results in my other subjects, I am now commuting between Gateacre and another local school to ensure I can complete my Chemistry A2 course; as I am determined to succeed in this subject. I feel that Physics has encouraged me to develop my communication skills and logical thinking; Mathematics gave me problem solving and data manipulation techniques; whilst Geography enabled me to improve my essay writing abilities and data handling skills.
