At Auburn High School, Student Council gives a voice to the students that run the organization to serve as the voice of the entire student body. The work that the team does help reform Auburn High into a better school. Jane Goodall once said, “You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” Student Council gives certain students the power to choose the kind of impact they want to make on their school. Its influence and purpose are what empower me to be a leader and serve the student body and the entire school and what I aim to continue doing next year if I am chosen as a student representative again. Student Council is the organization that I’ve always been passionate about since I first became a student representative in the 1st grade; at Auburn High, I’ve grown to love the work and everybody in Student Council, which I consider a team. I know how to take action that will advance an idea and make the school a better place. My determination drives me to work hard and commit and put forth a lot of effort into the tasks I take on. Taking on the responsibility of a student representative is not a simple task, whenever I am needed, I will be there. Not only do I complete what is asked of me, I take initiative and think innovatively. Also, flexibility is an important characteristic to have to be able to deal with any kind of problem; I find that I easily adapt to situations and can find a good solution.
