Going to college has been a dream since I was small. I remember my family’s vacation to Chicago, where the sheer height of the buildings, specifically the Sears Tower (as it used to be called), inspired me. I knew that when I grew up, I wanted to be as smart as the people who allowed this tower to stand so tall. Even though I am older, and am no longer amazed by the skyscrapers of Chicago, I am equally inspired by new technology, specifically software and computers. I want my career to revolve around that inspiration, which is why I am applying to your university for an undergraduate in Computer Science. By attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I know I will receive a high-quality education, have access to a variety of research paths to choose from, and have the opportunity to join a number of clubs and organizations.

My main focus in choosing a university is the quality of education. I am expecting college classes to be more difficult, which is why I will take advantage of the tutoring program, and I might even become a tutor in subjects I have strengths in, such as physics or computer science. My physics teacher told my physics class that the university has a nuclear reactor, which I thought was cool. For example, I came in to highschool with my goal to be an engineer or an architect. But my experience in taking all 3 available computer science classes, working on chromebook repairs at our schools technology center, and helping my business teacher set up our new school store system made my goals shift.
