Many times, individuals derive inspiration and a sense of direction by looking back. This involves evaluating new approaches that were considered in the past in order to establish what worked and what did not work for a given situation (Peterson, 2017). Looking back helps a person understand what they have learned so far with respect to their past experiences. It is basically returning to a learning experience. It also entails recapturing an insightful event.
Personally, working with younger children has been my passion. Before kick-starting my teaching career, I mainly babysat for my little brother, and tutor him during his scholastic years. I realize that there are numerous opportunities that I can explore by making the right decisions. One of my short-term goals in my teaching career is improving my communication of thoughts to students and colleagues. I am also determined to enhance how I communicate my suggestions and needs to my supervisors. Sometimes I am afraid to be honest when sharing my opinions with the director and senior teachers. I also intend to strengthen my relationship with parents of my students. As for long-term goals, I am eager to enhance my approach in behavior management. Since I am exposed to dual educational environment (special education and early childhood). I am often faced with challenging behavioral situations that make me wonder what to do. I have been struggling when making decisions on the best course of action for various behaviors in school. However, I have also been learning a great deal as different cases present themselves to my attention. It is my belief that I will gradually improve my capacity to deal with these situations after receiving additional guidance and specialized training as well as more time at school. It is my desire to enhance my behavior management capabilities. The other notable long-term goal that I set for myself during my training and tenure is to gain more confidence as an educator. In some instances, I find myself second guessing my decisions. I know that by learning how to believe more in myself, my confidence will increase to the benefit of my
