Throughout my time in education, I have always enjoyed participating in Physical Education and have realized I would like to pursue a career in the field of sport, more specifically Sports Psychology. I have always been interested and have felt very passionate about the practical and theoretical work in Physical Education lessons. I am currently studying A2 Physical Education, A2 Psychology, and A2 Biology. These subjects appealed to me when applying to college because I'm a very active person but I am also intrigued as to how certain systems work within the mind and body. As well as this I knew these subjects would overlap in syllabus’ for example the Social Learning Theory is covered both in PE and Psychology and Statistical Tests like the Sign Test comes up in both Biology and Psychology.The aspects of Biology I find particularly interesting is the Biological Molecules topic as you get to understand how carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids are broken down and digested. In Psychology, I am very interested in topics like aggression and gender but as well as this I really enjoy the research method portions. During Physical Education I have enjoyed studying topics like Anatomy and Physiology as this gave me insight as to how our body works during exercise and how a molecule like C02 can be detected in the body during exercise. As part of this course, I have to take 3 sessions in relation to my sport, each taking on board improvement points from the session plans as well as this I am also required to organize/run a sports competition/ tournament. I am also a qualified Referee with Hampshire FA and have refereed 30+ matches, both boys and girls football ranging from under 7’s to under 13’s.
