Physical Education is more than just sports it is the foundation where students learn how to be active for life and how to maintain a healthy life. Physical Education should be a balance between physical activity and physical education, which means they will not only learn how to be physically active but they will also learn why it is critical to live a healthy life. Students will learn how eating healthy can affect their lifestyle. Through Physical Education students will learn to build self confidence, which in return will motivate them to develop leadership and teambuilding skills by working with others. This should be a class that everyone can love since it involves so many different elements there should be one that everyone can be passionate about. Students will learn the fundamental skills through the movement domains and the outcomes from the Alberta Program of Studies. In the Alberta Program of Studies they focus on four outcomes, which are Activity, Benefits of health, Cooperation and Do it Daily! In order to meet these outcomes I must be strategic in how I teach Physical Education and this would include which curriculum models I use. There are five different models such as: Multi-Activity, TGfU (Teaching Games for Understanding), TPSR (Teaching Personal and social Responsibility), Sports Education and Fitness for Life. I believe when I teach I will use a combination of Multi-Activity,TGfU and Fitness for life. By using different models I will be able to reach all learners since they do not all learn the same. To assess whether or not I am reaching all learners I will use a variety of assessments. Some of the assessments would include skill tests, exit slips, observations, checklists, rating scales and learning
