Beliefs about Students-
I believe that students are more successful, when their learning is experiential. Students need time to work and figure things out on their own. When I was a student, I was much more successful when I had the opportunity to solve a problem on my own, rather than being led to an answer.
I believe that students are naturally curious. By modeling my own curiosity, I can encourage them to follow their curiousity and interest.To take advantage of my student’s curiosity, I will us pre-assessments and interest inventories to gather information on them. I want my students to share their interest and make choices in their education.
I believe that every student is at the end of day, a child, and ultimately needs love and support. …show more content…

This does not mean that my students would be allowed to run wild, but that the students would be able to move around and the classroom and interact with the other students. It would be a controlled setting where the students would know the rules and there would be consequences if they do not follow them.
I believe that teachers are the guide or facilitator of learning, rather than the lone source of knowledge in the classroom. By creating a classroom culture where students can work fairly independently, I will be able to be more effective in my instruction, collecting data and providing more one on one time as needed.
I believe that as a teacher I need to be flexible. I need to be ready for whatever happens and I need to be flexible to fit student interest and prior knowledge.
I believe that I need to be demanding as a teacher. I want my students to work very hard and I will do this by setting the bar high. I believe that students are full of potential and so I want to set them up to reach this potential.
I believe that as a teacher I need to have a curiosity for the subject matter. By modeling my own curiosity, students will see my interest and be engaged as
