You may be asking yourself why I am sending home a seed with this letter. What a random gift? Not exactly. That seed is a representation of your child. That seed needs to be tended to daily in order to thrive. It will need special attention. It may be hard to work with in different environments. Students are the same way. The rate at which they do will differ, but they will be challenged and pursue the knowledge they deserve. In order for this to be accomplished, each student will need to abide by a certain set of rules. Each student will be expected to follow directions, come to class prepared, and respect those around them. By following directions, they will stay on task and receive the intended information. By coming to class prepared, they will not waste time trying to get their materials ready. By respecting those around them, the classroom environment will be positive and welcoming. Communication will be the driving force of the classroom. Whether the basis is respectful or disrespectful, the environment will be affected. Students who work together, respect one another, and communicate with care will be able to maneuver through the material much easier than students who get lost in the mess of harmful communication. From students to parents to co-workers to administration to even the community, each plays a specific role in the school system. By utilizing each stakeholder appropriately, a teacher can change the environment of the classroom. Students will be encouraged through the diversity in the classroom and learn life lessons in the interactions they have with one another. Parents will be welcome in the classroom, and welcome to participate in their child’s education. Co-workers and other teachers have the opportunity to work together to implement changes in their student’s work. They may have the chance to combine classrooms for a unit to change up the environment. Great administration will care first about the students. They will recognize what is best for them and find a way to make that feasible. Finally, the community must continue to support the school in order for it to function
