Introduction

Over a few days I have learned what my future might look like, than in an entire year. CFNC.org has really shown me what my strongest skills are and what I might want to do do when I grow up. In this paper, I wish to describe to you about what we have been researching and what I have learned from this website and my ecstatic findings about the jobs and careers I could choose. I feel at most this site could be a key to helping me find what I want to do in the future.

Abilities, Interests, Skills etc.

In the past few days I have partaken in two surveys, one telling me the careers that I might be interested in. The other telling me about the skills that I am the strongest in and the weakest, to help narrow down my choices of a …show more content…

Health Science offers a lot of job choices like surgeon, neurosurgeon, or heart surgeon where I have to remain calm and think quickly. I also think that these jobs, with my love of helping people, would be a great selection for e as a career. Treating people who are hurt makes me feel like I am impacting the world.
My main choice of job will be a surgeon, even though I may not know which field of surgery, because I will do well in stressful situations. I know this from scoring a 6 in critical thinking. One of the main keys about being a doctor is having a helpful/joyful personality, yet serious during hard times. This will be a hard journey with 4 years to get a Bachelor’s Degree, 4 years to get a Doctorate and 3-7 years in residency; totaling over 12 years of schooling after high school.

The college that I would mostly fit into to become a surgeon, is University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which initially was my first pick. UNC at Chapel Hill is known as a large population school but they only take 28% of applications. I have read that UNC at Chapel Hill has good health courses, so this is why I am most interested in this school.
If I continue to go into this career path of being a surgeon it will take me at least 8 years plus residency to finish. I think the hardest part for me will be moving away for more than 8 years from my family. In the long run I hope to make my family proud and help others with the knowledge that this education will give me.
My plan to pay for college will be a combination of my parents, loans and hopefully scholarships. As long as I continue in the AIG program and into early college courses, I believe I have a good chance of accomplishing my goals. UNC at Chapel Hill has a always been my dream school and I do think it will help my to complete my goal to help the world around me.
