Music is about expression for people that don’t get the chance to show it. For the people that know how it feels to be heard but never listened to. In my experience, music has given me several opportunities to succeed personally and academically. Daily practicing the violin, for example, developed my creativity, sensitivity, and determination. Additionally, I got to study college abroad, partly because of my musical talent. Realizing that four violinists at my university had better violin skills than I had, pushed me to work harder. Thus, I decided to pursue a double degree.
I have the talent, skills and diligence to become a medical professional. My experience along with my passion to help others will give me the motivation. The medical field will give me the knowledge and the skills that I need to care for people going through illness, injury, pain, and aging. I will be able to challenge myself and work with different people. As a future medical professional, I will bring hope and healing to those who are desperate for medical care.
Physicians and surgeons examine patients, obtain medical histories, and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests. Physicians often work closely with other healthcare staff including physician assistants, registered nurses, and medical records and health information technicians. Physicians and surgeons may work in a medical specialty, such as cardiology, dermatology, pathology, or radiology1. This field interests me due to the shortage of doctors in certain areas and it is a way that I will be helping the community2. My grandfather inspired me to become a physician because he had always wanted someone in the family to be in the healthcare field.

Carl Rogers quote “The good life is a process, not a state of being. It’s a direction not a destination” really spoke to me on a personal level. I have a perfectionist personality. I am often always looking forward to the next goal. In college, this was a constant struggle for me.
I have been thinking about the certain types of career(s) that I may want in the future ever since I began college in my first semester back in 2012. There are many types of jobs that I have envisioned, that I could see myself doing. I have pictured myself primarily doing computer related jobs such as a computer technician, computer analyst, software/hardware engineer, and even a video game designer/network security administrator. I am both intrinsically, and extrinsically motivated about these jobs. However I believe that I am more intrinsically motivated than extrinsically.
Even as a child, the world of medicine fascinated me, whenever a friend or a family member fell ill, my first response was to question what was wrong with them, how it happened and how they could be made well again. I had a naturally caring yet inquisitive disposition and this drove my interest in medicine. It came as no surprise to my family when I, therefore, told them that I wanted to be the first of our family to become a doctor. They fully supported this and encouraged me to apply myself to my studies in school. This hard work paid off in the form of strong grades

In one of my early textbooks, I remember there being a section where they explained that there is a harmony between cultural and language at the time I was not able to connect the two. Now I see the light, and can see what they were trying to explain.
