I am a mature student just finished diploma of Information Technology at University of Technology Sydney (UTS): Insearch, a program provides direct entry into 2nd year bachelor studies at UTS. I enrolled on this particular course with the view that it will help me achieve the skills as well as the qualification I need to begin my University career. When I was younger, I had planned to become an IT professional and I took Information Processes and Technology and Software Design and Development as part of my Higher School Certificate.
I left education due to financial problem and found a job in retail. After relatively rapid career progression, I am now employed as Duty Manager in one of the largest Australia supermarket chain, Woolworths. I have been employed there for 5 years and I was fortunate enough to be promoted to the position of Manager 3 years ago. Being in charge of teams of up to 15 staff in various departments around the store has given me great confidence in my abilities to communicate. Over the years, I have been given invaluable experience in time management, team building and customer care. However I realised that my career was not where I wanted it to be and decided to return to school.
