Throughout my academic career, I have always been drawn towards the field of science. Something about knowing exactly how the world works down to the structure of an atom piques my interest and always keeps me wanting to learn more. Over the past year, I’ve focused heavily on searching for a career and path of education that will help me fulfill my dream of both helping others and applying the knowledge I’ve acquired and will continue to acquire about science. Following this principle, I’ve come to the conclusion that I belong in the medical field. As a result of my mother completing nursing school when I was younger, I was exposed to the study of health and medicine early on. This fueled a fervor for subjects such as anatomy, physiology, psychology, medical technology, and more. I recognize the prestige of their medicine and nursing programs as well as their extensive list of education departments and would be honored to further my education at this school. Thanks to the amazing group of role models and peers I have surrounded myself with during my education thus far, I have learned that the only limits on my future are the ones that I place myself. This has changed the way I view my career path because I know that in order to truly succeed I need to be care about and be invested in my goals. Clarifying those goals of working in the medical field and overall helping others has motivated me like no other to take my education seriously as it is really my future. More than anything, I strive to gain the tools necessary to make an impact in the world of health and I believe that the University of Washington would accommodate that
