Describe Yourself This is my first experience working in a group at Liberty University. With my undergraduate work and my military training, I have extensive experience in working within a group. I would classify my personality type as more of Type A trait driven. I tend to complete my earlier in the week, so I can turn it in for the writing center to help catch any mistakes I may have made. With that said, my annoyances would be working in a group where someone is not pulling their weight. We should all have an expectation that the work should be divided evenly according to our group’s strengths. Consequently. my boss would describe me as highly driven and goal oriented. If you happen to have a great idea, please make sure you deliver that idea to the group. Conversely, if the group decides and idea does not flow with direction of our assignment, please do not take it personally and work with the group towards an ideal outcome. Just as in the military no one is above the group, the same shall apply for our assignments. Torres Colorado and Eberle (2010) describe online students when they state, “most distance learning students are adults with past achievements in education and extracurricular concerns such as work status” (p. 8). Being understanding of each other’s obligations will lead to a more congealed group if something does arise for one of our members. I currently work a full time job that requires me to travel, but I should always have computer and internet access. I do not foresee any issues during this course. However, communication is the key. If a member has extenuating circumstances that will lead to a delay in their work, they should express that as quickly as possible. I am willing to pick up slack, if it is for a reason of merit. Performance Expectations I believe that work submitted to the group should be submitted in polished MBA-level writing. Please do not rely on the group to fix simple mistakes. My goal is to maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout the program and I would expect the same prospects out of all of my groupmates. I am willing to put in the extra hours to ensure the group’s final product is up to par with A level work. I hope to be known as a reliable team member who produces quality work in a timely manner. Expectations about
