Chemistry is one of the central sciences which is the reason why I have much interest in it. It has the ability to connect other sciences such as biology and physics. It was also my favourite subject at school and college because it can have an impact on the changing needs of society in relations to the environment. The study of Chemistry has developed my reasoning and problem-solving skills in addition to the ability to remain objective which are skill that can be used to solve problems in real life situations and dilemmas related to our environments. Chemistry has also contributed technological advances in our society. I have decided to further my studies of chemistry at university level because the career prospects in the chemistry sector …show more content…
Applied Science has provided me with these foundational skills as well as an understanding of chemistry, physics and biology along with a knowledge of Scientific and technical terms. The course was a mixture of class, small groups and independent study, where good time management and teamwork was essential. I have developed good relationships with my teachers, as I strongly value their help and expertise. The importance of key analytical skills can be overlooked at times but especially in a discipline like chemistry it is key to evaluate processes and results which is an area in which I have taken many opportunities to apply this during projects and assignments. My findings and research as well as group presentations sometimes proved difficult but overtime, I have developed stronger communication skills (both written and the spoken) which included working effectively as part of a team. As well as creating an academic presentation of research. I have gained organisational skill due to planning assignments and meeting the deadlines. When given the chance to conduct my own investigation I have used creativity and innovation whilst still following the course
