I have an interest that is a lot of me. I am a 3rd degree black belt in shaolin kempo karate. this is part of my identity. this trait is part of who i am and without it i'm not sure who i would be. I have been doing karate since the age of 4. I got into karate by my parents and brother. my older brother joined martial arts at school as an after school program with our future studio. as he went through the program with some of his friend he fell in love with the art. he was at the age of 9 and when he got his yellow belt my mother and father decided to enroll him into the studio. at this time i was three. my brother trained there for a little bit and when i turned 4 my parents enrolled me as will. I was shy at the beginning but slowly i became acquainted with the instructors and they became my second family. The martial arts has many qualities that the instructors want their students to gain. My life without these trails i'm not sure how i would survive. Without modesty I would would have a big head and think I'm better than a lot of people, but with my modesty I respect all people. If I did not have a courtesy I would be a rude person, the type of people I don't like today. Not having integrity would cause me to lie a lot and not have very high morals. Without having self-control I would have a lot of energy and wouldn't know how to channel it. If I did not have perseverance I would not be able to complete any, or even get halfway through many challenging things I pursue today.
