Being a Humanities student has been one of the greatest decisions I have made in my life. It taught me leadership, writing skills, and hardship. But when becoming a Humanities student was not all that easy. It came with a lot of imbalances along the way. But at the end it gave me a place worth it all. The decision for me to enter in the Humanities program was not my idea. It was more the influence to my parents. I had just moved from Frederick County to Montgomery County in 5th grade. I had never heard of the magnet program nevertheless the Humanities. My parents had heard about the magnet program from various parents and they decided to enroll me in. Writing is a very important skill. It helps mostly in essays which is a key information when applying for college. And that's what my parents and I wanted to improve mostly.For the past two years I have realized that with the help of my teachers I have improved greatly from my narrative from 5th grade to my big research paper in 7th grade. I have looked through my old papers from 5th grade and 6th grade and have found that I could improve them. That was a huge confirmation that I was truly developing. Also, the IDRP Research paper helped me understand the expectations of what a essay would look like in high school and college.
