Motivation and drive are amazing things that can enable someone to succeed and fulfill long term goals. Psychology can explain how this may affect our attitude and behaviours which helps me how to understand how to move towards my long term goal of becoming a pharmacist ever since my preteen years. Throughout my journey in high school, I have longed to become a pharmacist, own my own pharmacy and lead a team of pharmacy professionals. In order to achieve this goal, I plan to attend a university in Kamloops far from my home of Port Alberni. In Grade 8, my family made a decision to take a trip to India for a few months. My teachers would not allow me to go since Grade 8 is an important year leading up to high school. I persisted to go since it would be my only time to go there, later in high school it would be more of a struggle. Despite my teachers’ disapproval, I reassured them that I will succeed in high school and in my Grade 8 year. I took my laptop to India, and I was stricken with many pop quizzes, homework and notes that was difficult for me to understand, but I still completed that minor work. After I came back, a barrage of tests, homework, and the task of catching up with my class astounded me. I decided to attend tutoring to receive constant help, and with my ability to quickly adapt to this environment, I finished all my homework, exceeding my teachers’ expectations. At the end of the year, my principal presented me a prestigious award for our school motto ROCKS which R stands for Responsible, O stands for On time, C stands for Courageous, K stands for Kinship and S stands for Safety which only one person receives in the whole school. Out of 300 students, I received this award. Before he announced this I cried tears of joy after the long speech he gave to the school of how I truly deserve this
