National Junior Honors Society Essay By: Megan Pacchioli I am very excited by the opportunity to represent my school as a member of the National Junior Honors Society. Both in and out of school I support the Five Pillars of the NJHS, which are scholarship, service, citizenship, character, and leadership. I represent these five pillars by my grades and academic achievements in school, my dedication to my church, my dojo, and my soccer team. As well as taking part in my communities activities, being a responsible person, and manifesting my leadership on the court/field out of school.
Hello! Welcome to the Jr. Honors Academy! We are so excited for an amazing year! My name is Crista Ponder, and I will be serving as the Jr. Honors Academy sponsor. I am the 8th-grade Science and Social Studies Teacher at Riverdale.
I look forward to helping students to develop a drive for personal academic excellence and a rich perspective on the world around them as they explore links between the individual, society, and the natural world. The potential of secondary geography is to stimulate an interest in the wider world through learning knowledge, both in and beyond the classroom, and acquiring geographical and transferable skills to last a lifetime. I am currently studying a broad-based geography degree ranging from economic to cultural geography, but also including staples of classroom geography including development, coastal processes and volcanology. Students that have been a part of National Honor Society at Robert Vela High School have become outstanding individuals and have shown selflessness and a desire to aid their community in any way possible. It is because of this that it would be an honor to follow in the footsteps of those before me and continue to do service that will help my community and my school. National Honor Society is an organization that I feel will really help me to continue to develop my character, leadership skills, and assist in my overall growth as an honorable young adult. Being a part of NHS will open doors that will allow me to reach my highest potential while becoming a better and more charitable person. I am a dedicated and hardworking student and I strive to be my best everyday.

Personal Statement One positive quality about me is that I love to help other people. Throughout my life, I have been cultivating my skills to help everybody I see. I have always felt the need to help make the world better even if it takes an eternity to do so. One of the few instances I can remember where I was being helpful was when I had the opportunity to tutor young students in elementary and middle school. Another situation that comes to mind is when I took part in martial arts.
There is a lot of improvement I have to make. In accomplishment to this will take work hard to what I believe I deserve. I am intelligent an as a student I will put a great amount of hard work and wish to show the qualities id a student is capable to accomplish. Dedication and hard work will show the person I have become with all the effort I have put into this course.
Eagerness to learn, attention to details, and willingness to put in required effort and time, all qualities I wish to continue to practice as a student in AP English 12. As a student of organization and willingness to participate in classroom discussions and interactions, I believe those attributes of me as a student set me up for success in this class. My enthusiasm in learning has been a leading factor in my decision to apply for this rigorous course my senior year. While there are other options available this is the course best suited for me due to my attention to details and readiness to dedicate time and effort into this class. I have always had the curiosity to find to explore things to be organized to get involved with something, that is why I want to be a Businesswoman or an Interior Designer. I wish to be in Eagle Crests Honors Diploma for that reason. I want to accomplish my goals through this program. I want to challenge myself in high school and I know that the honors diploma program will help me go above and beyond ! my parents are the first generation to be living in America from our family and they tell me how hard it is to get into good schools in India.
English had always been my stronger subject, and I believed that I would only be able to achieve excellence in that area. However, I decided to push myself beyond my limits when I entered high school, and to approach the subject with a positive mindset
After high school, the future goal I’ve set for myself is to go to college to pursue a career as a high school English teacher. Over the years, I believe I have pushed myself to achieve in all of my classes but, most importantly, my English classes. I enjoy the subject of English, and my English teachers have, without a doubt, pushed me to better myself not only as a student, but as a person. Most importantly, they have taught me valuable life lessons throughout the years, which I hope to pass on to others.
The most powerful memory that I have is that of my sister being taken away in an ambulance in the middle of the night. I was 6 years old too young to understand what was going on; or why it was happening, I felt helpless and I wanted to stop it. That is the moment that I wanted to become.
When I’m at work I do my part on the job. I show up not on time but around 15 minutes early. I make sure that everything is accounted for and put away. Responsibilities show up and they have to be taken seriously. I want to do my job in the best way and be the best in my job position.
