Animal testing is something that will affect future generations of the world and the way they live. Global animal testing is a huge problem in society because it is cruel to the animals which are getting hurt for no reason as their results won’t fully represent human results. Animals are a key part of Earth’s eco system; some of which may be similar to humans, but they definitely aren’t the same. When animals are used for experiments the results are good if the product is intended for animals such as, pet food, pet sprays or pet shampoos. Using these animals to study human needs is not a reliable approach. Not being certain what these products would do to humans is very dangerous. For example, all sorts of animals are used that have barely any relation to humans. “Approximately 95 percent of the millions of animals used in experiments are mice and rats” (George, Patricia; Wagner, Geraldine). Often, the animals being tested on are left in cruel environments. If the animals get sick and weak, they are put to death, and replaced with a new animal to test on. For instance, “At the University of Pennsylvania in which 150 baboons suffered brain damage as a result of hydraulic equipment smashing against the baboons head to stimulate whiplash,” (George, Patricia; Wagner, Geraldine).
