Animal testing is one of the most cruel way of testing now days. There are millions of suffering animals all over this country because of animal testing. Nothing is being done to help theses animals. There are plenty of other ways to execute these cosmetic lab tests. Animal testing for cosmetic purposes needs to be illegal in Canada. The worst part is how harmful animal testing is. Most companies do not want to admit to even testing on animals, because of how the consumer might not buy the products again. Several universities conducted research on how immobilizing mice and rats, by shocking their feet can cause relevance to human anxiety and depression. These animals are confined to barren cages, socially isolated, and are psychologically traumatized. Those reasons alone are showing how cruel this testing is and this is why it should be illegal. Also most of these animals never see day light again, it is like they are taken as prisoners. They have no rights and nothing is being done about it, most of the laboratories that keep these animals are over crowded, loud, and very bright not comparing to natural light. The labs can use a method using reconstructed skin cells. Not only will this stop testing on animals, this test will be highly more accurate, and the more accurate the better. There is another method called microdosing, basically what this is, is when a human is given a very small one time drug dose. Then sophisticated imagining techniques are used to monitor how the body reacts. By using any of these methods we will cut back on animal testing and have highly more accurate results. This way if a company or lab wanted to test a new chemical or product they would need to use an alternative method because the Canadian law would make animal testing for cosmetic purposes
