Every year more than 100 million animals are killed due to animal testing. Animal testing is still acceptable almost all over the world. Sadly, many people still believe that it’s okay to murder animals to benefit the human race. Animal testing is cruel, unnecessary, and not worth it. Humans are wasting animals lives and it needs to stop. Animal testing is cruel and it's morally wrong to use animals in this way. The scientists put the animals through a numerous amount of painful tests. For example, they pour products into cute or wounds to see how the animal’s body reacts. They also hold animals eyes open with clips for long periods of time. Tests like those are usually used to test eyes drops or shampoo (“Should animals be used for testing?” 1). Another reason is that animals experience pain just the same as humans. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported in 2016 …show more content…
The tests only work 5-25% of the time (“Animal Testing Outline” 1). Animals are wasting their lives almost 80% of the time and that is absolutely unacceptable. The tests also give inaccurate results so they have to retest many times. Also less than 2% of human disease are found in animals, which means that animals have almost zero help in the medical field (“Animal Testing Outline” 1). Even if the test do work they don’t necessarily benefit humans. The final example why animal testing isn't worth it is that out of 200,000 releases mediations only 240 were labeled as essential (“Animal Testing” 1). Before scientists carry out tests they need to make sure that whatever they are testing is worth the cost of animals lives. The animals are being used as toys, which is not okay. Many people say that animal testing is worth it because when it does work it gives good results. But it barely ever works out and it's not fair to keeping throwing away lives. Animals are not toy and need to stop being treated like
