The use of animal experimentation began in early Greece and sparked a primary interest in physiology and pathology (Hajar). This practice continued as advancements in technology drove the curiosity of man. Today, the use of animal experimentation is highly regulated. The development of countless animal welfare organizations has sparked controversy concerning the topic.
